Driftwood Eco-Lodge

Driftwood Eco-Lodge offers a unique eco-adventure holiday with a touch of luxury in the beautiful, pristine wilderness of the Marovo Lagoon. Experience the subsistence lifestyle of the village people – connect with nature and go on purposeful hunting and gathering adventures both in the ocean and on land then return to the comfort of Driftwood Lodge. The lodges have been made from scratch using natural materials from the local environment and over 70% of fallen old growth trees hence the name ‘Driftwood’. They are designed for style, relaxation and modern comfort so that guests feel at home in the jungle.

Driftwood Eco-Lodge is located on Gatokae Island. There are no cars, no roads, not even any horses on Gatokae. Just bush tracks, canoes and walking tracks. The people of Gatokae Island are totally self-sufficient, building their own houses, catching their own fish and growing their own food. A stay at Driftwood offers many opportunities to go on adventures with the local village people and learn about their lifestyle.

Activities at Driftwood are focused on spearfishing, free diving, snorkeling, jungle walks and cultural immersion.
